We are so glad that my sweet little sister could come out for a visit this last month. We had a lot of fun!!! We went to two Rockies baseball games. The first day that Jenni came out we had a massive thunderstorm. It was pretty crazy (as you all probably know, we aren't fans of Denver's crazy storms). Jenni's flight got delayed three hours while the storm passed. DIA was shut down, at least forty airplanes were damaged due to hail, and Frontier cancelled a lot of flights. Luckily, Jenni did make it out, even if it was a little later than we hoped. That night was the University of Utah alumni night at Coors Field which started off with a BBQ and included tickets to the game. Unfortunately, Jenni missed the BBQ but she was able to make it to the game. It was fun to have her in the stands with us.
One night we went to a Mexican restaurant. We thought we would try it out because we got a good coupon from Groupon. This was our second strike-out with Jenni and restaurants. A previous time Jenni came out we went to a seafood place that over-fried her fish and chips. This time her enchiladas were too spicey. Sorry, Jenni. Next time we'll try something different.
Native Coloradans pride themselves in the natural beauty of the state. It isn't too often that we get to enjoy the mountains because they really aren't that close (well, compared to where I grew-up spoiled really close to the mountains). We took the chance with Jenni to go up to Boulder falls and a beautiful reservoir at the top of Boulder Canyon--Nederland's Barker reservoir. Both places were very beautiful and we all loved the trip. Of course, one of Colorado's afternoon thunderstorms cut the trip to the reservoir a little short, but it was still a lot of fun.
Jacob found a little thinking rock right next to the reservoir.
Thanks for coming out Jenni!!! We loved having you here and can't wait for the next trip!!!
